Not the best ps3 graphics but it came out a long time ago. Definately worth the $10-15 it's going for now a days. I haven't gotten the online to work because my ISP blocks p2p ports such as are used by this game, but the single player is a lot of fun.
THIS GAME IS SICK. It's awsome cause' you get to blow up pretty much everything in sight, hijack helicopters, tanks, boats, and cars. The only thing i wish is that maybe the game wouldn't be so hard. and if you're really bored with it you can take a helicopter hover above a busy road and drop your winch and wait for some car to pass by and when it hooks on to your winch lift it really high into the air then drop it.
I tried to play the game but it would freeze up so I didn't get to play.
I wouldn't pony up full retail for this game, but the fun/cost ratio is decent if you can get it for a few clams off of the "Greatest Hits" price. As most dedicated gamers know, many EA games have this problem of being shipped out before they are truly ready for the marketplace.Bottom line: if you dug M1, you'll still have fun playing M2.
You get the open-world freedom of GTA with the intense action of MOH.Unfortunately, after a great start to the series, Pandemic seems to have released Mercenaries 2 prematurely. While the game is still lots of fun, especially if you're somebody who enjoyed Mercenaries 1, many aspects of M2 feel incomplete or half-baked.Here are a few examples of how rough M2 is in many places:*Character dialogue is repetitious and often missing from important places such as mission briefings.*Background music is limited to a small number of short fragments that are played over and over and over and over.*Many activities, especially side missions, are bland filler.
The concept behind the Mercenaries series is a good one: Grand Theft Auto crossed with Medal of Honor. I wonder if this is due to Electronic Arts publishing M2 (LucasArts was the publisher for M1).
Gun range challenges, vehicle obstacle courses, flight school missions, and the like are really just glorified training levels. B-o-r-i-n-g.All of this is disappointing because M1 was such a well-designed game.
You'll need your knowledge of how the game world works because explanations of the features and tasks in the game are few and far between. If you haven't played M1, download the M2 demo from the PlayStation Network before picking up the full version.
That is not correct. Please read the other reviewers' comments regarding how good this game is (or isn't). My only comment is that the description suggests that it has both online and split-screen co-op multiplayer. The game only supports online co-op, not split screen. Hope this helps you from making the same mistake that I did.
